Poetry Book “Ember and Waves” by Shagun Lahoti Released Worldwide

A new poetry collection titled Ember and Waves by Shagun Lahoti has been released worldwide. This heartfelt book explores the emotions of grief, love, memory, and healing. Through simple and honest poems, the author shares the journey of learning how to live with loss while keeping love alive.

Ember and Waves is a contemporary poetry collection that shows grief not as a single moment, but as a long and changing experience. When we lose someone we love, life does not return to the same normal. Instead, we slowly learn how to carry memories, emotions, and love in a new way. This book gently reflects that emotional journey.

The collection takes readers through the feelings that follow an unexpected loss. It talks about the shock that comes first, the memories that return in everyday moments, the questions people ask about life and destiny, and the slow process of accepting what cannot be changed. The poems remind readers that grief and love often exist together.

The book is divided into five parts that follow the natural journey of mourning.

  • The first part, The Break, talks about the moment when loss first happens. It shows the deep emotional shock when life suddenly feels divided into “before” and “after.”
  • The second part, The Haunting, explores how memories continue to appear in daily life. Familiar places, quiet rooms, and small moments can bring back thoughts of the person who is gone.
  • The third part, The Questions, gently asks questions about life, time, destiny, and faith. These poems reflect the natural human desire to understand why loss happens.
  • The fourth part, The Remaining Love, focuses on the love that still exists even after someone has passed away. The poems show how love continues to guide us through memories and the way we care for others.
  • The final part, Living With It, speaks about learning to live with grief over time. The poems remind readers that healing is not quick or simple. Instead, it happens slowly through acceptance, small moments of peace, and the strength to keep moving forward.

At its heart, Ember and Waves is a book about love that continues even after loss. It encourages readers to accept grief as part of life and to see it as a reflection of deep love.

The book was written in honor of the author’s late grandparents and created as a special birthday gift for her mother. The collection includes 53 poems, representing 53 years of love, memory, and family strength.
